Ok...you keep that angle covered....among all the others out there. If it was a situation where somebody thought "time was up", seems like a bigger gun would have been used to ensure the outcome. If Chloroquine/zinc works...the developers would have known that. It would be a big "maybe the virus will work, maybe it will get stopped first" kinda decision. I dunno, maybe that's just a hole in my tin-foil. ;-)

And we all know they're going to have a hell of a time actually feeding their people in coming years. The Chinese politburo are fully aware that no dynasty survived a period of global cooling. Both China and Russia believe we are headed into global cooling. I believe this is why China is plowing the savanna of Africa and shipping home boat loads of food, and why Russia took the Crimea which is part of the bread basket of Europe, worried that Russian wheat belt productivity will drop like what has happened in southern Australia. Both these regimes plan and look decades ahead. China has 50 and 100 year plans. Democracies don't look past the year before the next election.
