Carl: Your comments make a lot of sense. We are probably in a QP w/r/t the VLT's.

I suspect that EZ is just doing some fine cheerleading without any inside information. I think EVERYONE has been cut off.

It's funny how some of EZ's posts are written exactly the way MBA used to write at BOBz. Is EZ really MBA? (unlikely since they've argued recently).

Not much else to talk about without solid info from NorAm. But volume has definitely jumped up since the announcement.

I still hope to keep a pure play on NorAm. There's no telling if there's a profit in being bought out by someone else. We'd probably see a short term gain in the sale, but might lose out on the big time gains in the future.

The QP is making a lot a sense. If someone is trying to valuate NorAm in Venezuela, NorAm would not be able to say much about what's going on.

<<<< the buyout will be of Noram rather than a cash poor
Noram buying out anyone else or forming another JV.

I'll have to agree with this one. In fact, it may almost be an act of desperation given the sad cash position of the company.

<<<<I would have expected a release/update on the
status of the VLTs if this was designed only to raise the price of the stock

It would seem to me that if the VLTs are doing well, and if the company is looking for a partner with money, any announcement which would enhance the stock price would strengthen the company's negotiating position.

Shucks....If the VLTs are doing well, and it appears that the rest of the program is going to move ahead more or less as originally outlined, I'd put up the money directly to the company rather than playing around with the stock. I'd need some nice options to sweeten the deal, though. gggggggg George

Carl, I think you've hit the nail on the head...

If buyout or merger occurred, Noram definately isn't in the acquiring position...Noram does have $$$ contracts that will eventually (even with the delays) provide various diverse income streams and they already have a public presence on the OTC: BB - this could help if acquiring company is private and wants to become public.

A merger seems a good deal for the shareholders where the assets of another are merged and included on the balance sheet of the new corp...and, hopefully, needed capital would be immediately available for those cash starved projects NorAm has in the bag...Wouldn't it increase the book value of the stock we own, if it were private company acquiring NorAm???...Just some wishful thinking out loud...
