Interesting. Now here is an ironic twist to how I got off. I was friends with a NY Assistant Attorney General in charge of Medicaid fraud. He held that position for 19 years and was very well known for TV interviews. In Jan 1996 NY state cut government jobs and he got let go. My trial came up the next month in Feb and since this friend was unemployed I fired my Lawyer and hired my friend. This was his first case as a defense lawyer. He made the DA look like a total maggot that he is and the jury actually started booing the DA. The Judge never said order in the court,he was laughing and cracking one liners .I think the DA shayt his paints because when he come to the stand I could smell either pig shit or white Castle. Bottom line it took the jury 45 minutes to say not guilty.
