Maybe the virus is burning itself out or maybe there were many more infections than they counted and there is a significant immunity in the population that has curbed the spread.

Of course the above is not true. They would have had 100K dead just in Wuhan, and millions in China if they hadn't stopped it.


The Chinese were not testing everybody. If we wanted to know the true incidence of the virus, take a random population and test all of them and see what the incidence is. From there, we could get a better idea about what the true mortality rates are and about who really gets sick and who doesn't. Maybe the corona virus mortality rates will resemble the flu's numbers. I haven't read anything yet in terms of real population numbers but maybe they exist and I didn't see them. I have been pretty busy lately so I haven't kept up.
