The big winner of the CPQ/DEC deal is Intel and Microsoft. CPQ gets a faster way to move its servers into the enterprise!!!

"It takes a lot of time (2 years) to set up a world wide service organization. CPQ with DEC is hoping for a quick way to have it."

But it will take at least half that long to properly integrate dell.

Another aspect that is worrisome is the fact that the deal cost $9.6B and then add another god knows how much for buy-outs and integration charges and you are very esasily looking at $12b if not $15b (by the time you figure lost interest, etc.)..
