comparison of the PE's for some of the most-named
stocks on our thread. This compares the average ANNUAL PE
for the past 5 years vs. the average for 1997.
(You can check the latest PE for your stocks to see where
they are today.)

The average Low PE is particularly interesting.
(NOTE: S&P isn't up to date on the year-end numbers for
every company; these are the latest 12 mo. PE's.)

Why TDW got creamed:

(Jan 26) was statements by TDW to analysts. Evidently, TDW advised analysts
that there would likely be overcapacity in the Gulf area during the spring and
summer. Since the market looks ahead, the price declined. <<
