FWIW: I mistakenly chatted with Computershare customer support yesterday thinking the process started with them. But they couldn't answer the 401k question as the process is initiated at the brokerage and they were not willing to speculate on that variable.

The only info that I got from them was to get it done, the brokerage either has to issue you physical shares OR transfer shares directly to Computershare. Hopefully, the brokerage is willing and able. And I believe to sell you will have to do the process in reverse...I dont think you can sell share registered in your name directly from a Compuershare account, but I don't have confirmation on that...
