Wuhan showed that WuFlu can be reduced below chain reaction action by masks, due care, attention, and isolation. It's going to have to be every man for himself around the world, with self-protection the way to keep vectors of transmission below chain reaction catastrophe. Meanwhile, with the first WuFlu death in NZ, the government is finally, unbelievably, considering that maybe wearing masks is better than "coughing into your elbow" as a mechanism to reduce infections. It's as though a primary requirement of government work is to be totally retarded, while being arrogant. In Vietnam and Singapore 2 months ago [when I was there] wearing masks was normal and in many businesses everyone wore them. Video of Westerners shows that wearing masks is quite unusual. Today while walking nearby, of about 50 people out for a stroll or bike ride, perhaps 6 were wearing masks. It seems that the free world took another 2 months to figure out that they should get real. As a guide to downwind virus transport, one can smell cigarettes being smoked tens of metres away. Vaping on a cool day forms big clouds wafting downwind. While they cannot be seen of course WuFlu droplets will waft many metres downwind. People here have been told to stay 2 metres away from others. But not wearing masks, they talk while standing downwind. Your family TJ is like a highly successful WuFlu = all over the world. Had a round of separate calls w/ relatives in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Venezuela, Chile, USA, South Africa (Johannesburg), Hong Kong, Beijing, and Moscow, and traded texts w/ friends in Philippines, France, and Japan. Donald is right to turn everybody loose for the resurrection. Or maybe Good Friday. At least in the less contaminated regions. But probably Big Bang back to work is best. The economic harm is worse than the failing Big Brother prevention strategy. Every day, during Lockdown, New Zealand is importing more WuFlu to be passed on. NOBODY should be allowed in or those arriving should be immediately placed in plastic bags and moved at gunpoint to quarantine tents downwind from everyone and way out in the booeye. Long before the virus is eliminated world wide, the economic cost of Lockdown will be far worse than the attempted cure. China now has to stop people arriving or risk reinfection. Yum char and shared food in crowded places is not looking good as a cultural practise. Catholics all drinking from one cup is going out of fashion fast [I think it already did]. New Zealand actually has a chance to totally eliminate the virus in the next 2 or 3 weeks. But no arrivals will thereafter be allowed, or very very strictly enforced 4 weeks at gunpoint quarantine will be needed to stay clean. Xenophobia will be an essential character trait. Because tourism is a big earner, stopping that is going to be a huge loss of income to NZ.
