Just a thought.

IBM's latest earnings showed strength in it's service end of the business and disappointments in it's hardware end. This may have been the queue to CPQ to wrap up it's discussions with DEC in a hurry. Expanding into the enterprise services arena has been what CPQ has desired for sometime, at least that has been my impression.

Certainly DEC comes with alot of key ingredients to help CPQ, technology, customer base, experience, etc...

I echo the sentiments of those here who are sad to see DEC go.

For those who insist on finding a match for SUNW, I strongly suggest you look at the few companies who are not devoted to NT as a platform. This list is very small, BTW.
