3/27/2020 Contest update (Contest YTD is calculated from 1/3/2020 close.) Given the times, the Contest and my updates seem irrelevant. But sheltered in place with idle hands, I might as well continue my weekly routine. At Friday’s close, the Contest median was down -25.34% YTD (vs. down -22.10% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was down -10.05% YTD (vs. down -11.50% YTD a week ago), the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was down -19.71% YTD (vs. down –18.71% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) was down -18.27% YTD (vs. down -16.83% YTD a week ago). JBOG’s portfolio, up 38.62% YTD, held on to first place with a big lead. FILO’s portfolio, up 14.90% YTD, and DOUGH’s portfolio, up 12.37% YTD, remained in second and third place. At Friday's close, just 4 of the 42 Contest portfolios were in the green, with 7 beating the NBI and 15 beating the SPSIBI. The 197 Contest stock picks have an average YTD loss of -17.51% and a median YTD loss of -27.86%. Below is the Top Ten list.
