Children and college students are being sent home to continue their education because of Covid-19.

Most of our workforce is being asked to work remotely from home. In both cases the necessary technology to make this happen is not always already in place.

The result is an increase in demand for chips and computers of all kinds to make both remote learning and work possible for everyone.

That I suspect is largely responsible for the rise in pricing.

Very small price changes in three models, but each price change direction is .......up. See next page for oppisite post. Hard to tell what's going on out there. I'd be really surprised if the pandemic is actually GOOD for PC sales, but who knows? WD a,d Samsung up $1, Corsair up $2, the rest flat.

OK folks - I'm going to do a little project to try to track NAND pricing.

I've chosen six SSD models. And I've bookmarked the product's sales page on NewEgg.com. Here they are:

Plextor M9Pe AIC 256GB NVMe PCI-Express 3.0 x4 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

newegg.com

WD Blue 3D NAND 250GB PC SSD - SATA III 6 Gb/s 2.5"/7mm Solid State Drive

newegg.com

Crucial MX500 M.2 2280 1TB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

newegg.com

SAMSUNG 860 EVO Series 2.5" 250GB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
newegg.com

Intel 760p Series M.2 2280 256GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 3D2 TLC
newegg.com

Corsair Force MP510 M.2 2280 480GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4, NVMe 1.3 3D TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
