listen dummy we are Canadian citizens not British subjects we can't go to Britain with out a passport

Canadian Citizenship Act of 1947
Before 1947, both people born in Canada and naturalized immigrants (newcomers who became Canadian) were considered British subjects. The Canadian Citizenship Act came into force on 1 January 1947 and was the first nationality law to define people as Canadian.
