Ibexx and all: Some concern re: Alpha chip w/ CPQ:DEC merger.
Is there any possibility CPQ may want to put Alpha into ordinary
PCs as another alternative to Pentium chips and thus drive down
Intel's pricing, etc. It seems they have been trying that with
the K6 and Cyrix chips, and Alpha is a higher performance competitor.
..They would own the Alpha architecture/rights even if Intel went
ahead with their settlement and owned the Alpha chip plant.
Any thoughts?

Upcoming events:

February 6, 1998 - The IEEE International Solid State Circuits Conference : Rambus will give two presentations on Rambus and RDRAM, one of which will be co-presented by Intel. A significant progress update is expected (H&Q report).

February 17, 1998 - Intel's Developers Forum: An entire day will focus on high performance memory implementations with several presentations on Rambus.
