I think chances of Sun buying Auspex is very much likely. I think of the candidates you mentioned Auspex makes more sense because of their bilingual NT-UNIX servers (due out hopefully by the end of next quarter). ASPX also has a very strong balance sheet with lots of cash and absolutely no debt. So in my view Auspex is the best candidate for the take over (and this is not just because I just happen to be a ASPX share holder)! The only problem I see with Auspex is that they are slow in delivering their new NT line of products and that may cause Sun to think twice. But then Sun may buy them and put some of its own resources on the project!

However all considered I do not think Sun will be buying anything that ends up supporting the Microsoft camp (even if it does benefit its own - such as buying a company like Auspex that has a NT product).
