It was pre-debunked...

The time sequences in the events, and the things written about the events prior to this made up story, are a proof in themselves...

The story about North Carolina was made up as a propaganda ploy... after the fact... given the already provided proofs that the scientists who were doing the coronavirus work at the lab in Wuhan were a PART OF the work that was done in North Carolina. They were the post-docs conducting the work in North Carolina... and then they took what they learned home with them and continued the work in China... after the U.S. de-legitimized and de-funded that work because it included "gain of function"... making the viruses worse than they already were... in order to study them.

China had no such constraints... and that's what they did in the lab in Wuhan... which isn't a guess... they published scientific papers about their work.

Not worth re-hashing here. I've covered it pretty thoroughly here on SI with postings on other pages. Anyone who wants to see what I've written about it can easily search for it on SI.

But the propaganda story falls apart pretty quickly...

It's also pretty ham-fisted... bad enough that it quite clearly does China far more harm than good... although in relation to China's priorities ? Obviously, they're necessarily a lot more focused on "internal messaging" than they are concerned about doing damage to the relationship with the U.S., which is one inevitable result from the effort... converting the fact of the virus expanding here now... into an attack...

It suggests they're vastly more concerned about "internal stability" now than they'd like to let on... to be this reckless with the truth...

And we might yet find a proper use for the word xenophobia... as the "western media reports" stories are written...
