(1) Whatever the eventual truth, we shall know when allowed to know.

- Every speculation is a speculation now. Patient Zero not found, even if Patient One found.

- Patient Zero usually found, even if eventually, unless incinerated, location unknown, and nationality unknown.

- Would be good if some pneumonia patients samples in 2019 reviewed, everywhere. Just even if out of curiosity.

- It is not arguable that the hype / alarm / weaponisation of narrative was tee-ed up, and such did not serve Team China’s interest, and now, just like the virus, out there for all to see.

- Which Team started first the blame-game is clear when have time to sort out the when’s, but not time yet, because daily evolution too engaging for looking back by usually thoughtless MSMs.

- The way the Teams reacted to progression of virus attack, still on-going, the timelines / actions / reactions / chain-reactions, also out there.

All fascinating, just like a war should be, and is.

(2) Had a round of conversations this day with folks who run active businesses, and my conclusion can be summed up with one word, “dire”

(2-i) Found one outlier, a jewelry making / marketing business hubbed along axis of Belgium and Hong Kong, and the on-line part of the business went ... up, even as the off-line cratered.

- “Oh honey, you cannot go to work, we have to tutor the kids, but, hold, let me place an on-line order for some sparklers which I am sure the courier company can deliver.” - I cannot explain that one

(2-ii) In another instance, a tycoon reports blood in the water for long-haul container and bulk shipping, and for aircraft leasing.

Both instances (2-i) and (2-ii) would normally hit the banks, but both report in different words, “the banks do not seem to be working”

(3) If two words, then “expensive”

(4) If more words, “bigger problems ahead given the cure is worse than the disease, but not for sure, but more expensive for sure irrespective of anything else, and tax payers everywhere must pay”

(5) Under the circumstances, the wagering is difficult because dangerous, but gold seems a fair bet, and even that has problems.

(7) By this day’s foraging by the wife, found out what the absolutely critical items

We got some treats for the kids and they are ecstatic - an American invention, as far as I make out, CHOCOLATE DONUTS!

I hope the food infrastructure does not fail like the gold contraption

What is important to me? Hot chocolate mix!

What is simplest for lunch? Frozen pizza!

What’s for tomorrow? Pot-stickers, frozen, made in S Africa, marketed by Woolworth. Not exactly dim sum but close enough.

Unclear how we are to get back to Hong Kong and when. Embrace the unknown is a survival trait.

Our view is wonderful as ever, but we know the city is deathly quiet, for now, and empty, at this instant.

Our neighbors are all friendly and mutually understanding. Community spirit is fantastic, but all at a distance. A friendly conversation across the street here, a hearty wave of the arm up the hill there.
