It’s obvious that the reporting vastly understates the number of actual cases. I’m pretty sure that anyone who shows up in an emergency room with classic Coronavirus symptoms but nothing acute will most likely be sent home to self quarantine, maybe with a hotline number to call if symptoms become acute.

I think the reported numbers reflect the number of serious cases that will likely lead to medical intervention of some sort. I read a couple of doctors assessments concluding that 80% of those who get the virus will come through it without any significant medical intervention. It’s the 20% that is stressing the system.

Wouldn’t shock me to find after the fact that we have 500k cases not in the public numbers, and Its likely to me that many of the 500k are already on the slow road to recovery.
