Alert... Dell computer to buy Venkel Corp....... Dell computer goes on buying spree and buys Venkel.. Dell sees high hope in Mgmt at Venkel and buys just to get Venkie"Donnie" on payroll....<gg>.

Jim,Dataquest has historically underestimated DELL's unit sales volume. IDC, on the other hand, has been much more accurate. I see the Dataquest sales volume of 1381k for Q4 as the floor and this still represents 14% sequential growth. Not bad for the low end. IDC will report in the next day or so and their numbers should more closely correspond to our estimates ~ 1,460k - 1500K. I believe margins this Q will improve & will fluctuate with ASP. Right now I feel comfortable with an ASP range of $2550-$2625 and a gross margin range of 22.8% - 23%. I wish I had a better handle on ASP though!
