New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a 2020 presidential afterthought before his popular performance fighting the coronavirus, has surged ahead of Sen. Bernie Sanders to become the third top bet to win the presidency, according to oddsmakers.

Once a 250-1 bet, Cuomo now stands at 25-1, still a long shot, according to Oddschecker, which charts political betting in Britain, where it's legal and regulated.

The current 2020 odds:

Donald Trump, 1-1 (+100)Joe Biden, 11-8 (+138)Andrew Cuomo, 25-1 (+2,500)Bernie Sanders, 33-1 (+3,300)Mike Pence, 50-1 (+5,000)
