Eeyup. Monster child. Doc wants to stack the deck, otherwise we'd be looking at a mandatory Caesarean. And Spouse is a pretty big girl. No Sally Field she.

Alexa I would like to explore this topic a little more. What do you do for disciplining your children?

I know this is a sensitive topic but I thought it would be informative for me...

I admit I have hit my son Ryan twice. Never had to touch Katie. I'm not sure I could anyway... Yeah I know sexist, but she's only three and little girls just seem different to me. Less defiant, if you stick to your guns. Ryan, after being repeatedly told not to, went out in my garage picked up a hammer and smashed a window! It scarred the heck out of me! He doesn't practice hammering on windows anymore...The other time it had something to do with playing around with the stove burners.

The rest of the time "time out" seems to work really well. So we use that.

I guess I fall into the camp that says each kid is different and a parent should use as much or a little physical disciplining as they see fit. The state involvement in parental affairs worries me. On the other hand I know child abuse does happen, and something should be done about it. Why can't it simply be a police matter though instead of a social services matter?

This is one topic I definitly feel I don't have all the answers too :-) I question my disciplining techniques alot. It would be nice to have a magic bullet and know your child is going to turn out perfect huh?
