Even 1 million infections would result in just 10,000 to 20,000 deaths at the current USA rate between 1.0% and 2.0%. The rate of hospitalizations might be more important. This thing takes a while to defeat once you get it, it appears. Good old Abbott Labs has come up with a device that performs an infection test in 5 minutes. Thank God for Abbott - science and technology may yet rule the day. J&J and others are working on a vaccine. Others are working on medicines to reduce the strength of this beast in those that already have the infection. We are lucky this thing showed up given that we have our super duper pharma and biotech industries in the USA.

There is some very fishy crap going on with the celebrities that supposedly have the virus. It is starting to make the whole thing look like a charade. 71 yr old Prince Charles: Diagnosed with the virus 7 days ago. Now fully recovered and out of isolation has returned home to his fam. .Supposedly "still has a cough", but quite chipper and raring to go. . msn.com 62 yr old Prince Albert of Monaco: After two weeks of treatment, he is now fully recovered other than a "bit of a cough" and is back with this wife and kids and raring to go. "Needed to wait 24 hours" before he could hug and kiss on this children. . people.com Earlier today on CNBC they rolled out a "famous Doctor" of whom I am entirely unfamiliar, who was describing that he had almost exactly the same experience as Prince Charles and Prince Albert (without mentioning them, of course). He warned us that this virus could be around for years, but after two weeks he was already on the talk show circuit even though he "still had a bit of a cough". Sounded very much like an actor as he talked. Either he was an actor, or he probably had some impromptu acting lessons on the fly. Who writes these scripts? Ever feel like you were getting snookered and you found out later it was so?
