Literally no one could do a good job of being a production czar.

That is just dogma born of Reagan's "Guv'ment is the problem." Of course government screws up. Of course private companies screw up. And also of course there is no necessity that either one of them screws up at any given time.

It is true that the virtue of private companies is that if they screw up badly enough, they will go out of business. But governments can be corrected too--the only time it can't is if people who are determined to prove that they are hopelessly competent are in charge. Like post Reagan Republicans. They are clearly the worst stewards of the government in history.
