VIP, A name change would be nice (gas 'r' us ? or We Have Gas??) and could support a new marketing initiative, but I don't think they have anything overly creative in mind. I accept their explanation that a name change would simplify a stock split. I am aware that other VSE companies have made minor name changes to void superceded option agreements or escrow conditions. There could well be some outdated wording in BPI's charter which would complicate a split. If memory serves me correctly, this name change was also proposed last year along with a stock split, but as neither were acted on during the year, they require shareholder approval again. (Stop me if this is all old hat!)

I discussed the AGM paper with Curt on Friday and didn't find anything to get excited about. The meeting starts at 10AM (not 9:30) on Thurs. and the proposed split is 2:1 (not 3:1). The lawyers who made these errors have been de-retained (does that account for the selling?) Curt said that they have all the necessary proxies and support required for the resolutions and expects them to procede smoothly. Are you or your pardner going to the AGM? I'm not planning on it, but I can hop over if something important comes up.

On the good news front, Vrisakis is in Vancouver all week, so maybe the company will make some significant decisions they can anounce.

On the even better news front, while at the Vancouver Resource and Energy Investment Conference yesterday, I was talking to a newsletter writer named Robert McAllister from Calgary. Have you heard of him or his newsletter "Investors First"? I wasn't aware of him before, but he's been recommending BPI in his newletter since August and says he's still really keen on the stock. He also stated he had just met with Lucky and had gone over the Halliburton logs. He said those were looking very good and thought they suggested that the proposed resource estimate of 1.3 TCF was conservative. I thought that was great news as I've been concerned about the lack of objective info being released.

Also talked with the Cross Lake boys, but couldn't get much out of them on drilling plans. Let me know if you want more info, or email me if you want to avoid the net.

Cheers, IanD
