No we will certainly bounce along the bottom for several quarters. The scars and disruptions will be severe.

my industry, outpatient laboratory medicine, is totally blocked, shut down. small regional and larger national labs have had their volumes shrink by 80-90%, almost overnight. and thats going to be for the next 4-6 weeks at least.

Furloughs and terminations are in order. Reduced salaries for those lucky enough to hang on. Even the big girls - quest and labcorp will vaporize some good size departments due to the revenue shock.

the feds gutted the system with obamacare which resulted in piss poor reimbursements in their attempt to drive all material to the big medical centers. Now they will have a another chance to totally wipe out the outpatient lab sector and drive everything into the large hospital networks.

i would hope this administration would have some positive influence on this but i doubt it. the forces are just too strong.
