Gee, Tommie, do you think it might be that they'd determined the SARS epidemic came from a bat virus? The bats are still out there, hosting viruses. This particular virus seems to have been around for 2000 years, in bats. It just made the news when it jumped to another animal, then from there to US. Other than paranoid right wingers, there's no actual evidence it 'escaped'. Also, as the article points out, if they really wanted a bio-weapon, they wouldn't have used THIS virus, which really isn't a very efficient killer.
