I am not suggesting that government can micromanage the economy--my apologies if that is what you were talking about. We agree on that completely. All I am saying is that when there is a need for specific things like masks, gowns, gloves, ventilators, drugs, etc.--people in government can direct and oversee the production of those things. There is a saying the military: Soldiers win battles but quartermaster generals and staff sergeants win wars. The latter no doubt have big jobs procuring, storing and moving a lot of things around. But they can do it.
