With inflation running at around 2%, 0% interest rates are already negative in real terms. As Greenspan says, 'zero is only a number.' This is the same man who said we'd never see zero rates.

Regardless, the Fed balance sheet is a shade under $6 trillion. The Fed website isn't showing it yet though.

There's this myth that things will get better really fast. I don't see it. The Fed can't lower its balance sheet without the market tanking. It also can't raise rates. All it can do is accomodate the incompetence of hyper sensitive investors and worthless CEOs.

This is not capitalism. I don't know what it is but it's nothing I'm studying.
