Gregory, the implication from the CNBC story was SUN would help Dell with customer sevices in addition to higher end servers.

I agree with your analysis of SUN. It would be very surprising for Dell to do it.

Dell has planned out growth in line with their business model. For Dell to go against their management plan just isn't going to happen unless they feel there is a stategic advantage for Dell.

Plan B for the business model?

greg, taking over dec's pc biz is the worse part of the dell.
dell doesn't need dec pc biz. the consulting and service group.
plus dec has a real deal on cheap intel chips.
part of the lawsuit gives them intel chips cheaper than anyone
