HI Earlie; Doesn't DEC make tha ALPHA chip ! It's something else again, I mean even 20 PIIs chained cant do what one of them can. I expect they had to pay a nice penny, but DEC has so much in the way high end stuff that if CPQ can market it it could turn a lot of things around. I'v know for years DEC had much better engineers than Intel. Seems to me they could have worked at a smaller risc chip and their oun os system and blown intel and microsoft away if they would have marketed it. Jim
