The State gov't worker pool is 73,000 strong here. Largest employer in the State by far. Absolutely insane benefits and pay.

Start:
3 weeks vacay
3 weeks sick
18 holidays
Golden medical
20 years then retire at 90% of last 2 years pay(love that overtime the last 2 years!)

So the Governor allowed all but "essential" workers to stay home until further notice a few weeks ago at full pay.

Meanwhile 151,000 private workers filed for UIB in the first 4 weeks of March. Or tried anyway. Website still broken. No walk ins allowed.

Only 7 workers to process claims statewide. State house asks State Human resources director to assign temp workers who are home to come in and learn how to process claims. he says no can do. Violation of Collective Bargaining Agreement. Now looking like summertime before folks start getting UIB checks.

Next breath the head of the HGEA state workers union is demanding 25% Hazardous Pay increase for all State workers till actually working ...or "send us home"
