Here are a couple of points to make:

- When Lucent introduces their 16 DWDM, Ciena will be in production shipments of their 40 Channel DWDM,

- Relationship with AT&T in not affected,

- The product from Lucent will be available (for what?) in the fourth quarter of 1998,

- When the product is available it will be made to be an upgrade to Lucent's 16 channel DWDM,

- I suppose Ciena will have a 80 channel product by then.

I think Ciena still is a growing star in the photonics field.

CIEN might be an excellent company but at these valuations things
have to go absolutely right for them. Any news which clouds the future
for cien is going to bring down valuations.
