Hi Cessnastreet I am equally as mad as you are over this action by Trump. This is a partial response I made in another thread ************************************************************************************************************************* First an admission:I am not a fan of Mr. Trump. He is a stock pumper IMHO. I am even less of a fan with his latest stunt with 3M. With NO negotiation with a strong ally as is Canada, he is demanding that 3M divert all their mask production to the USA. We have an order in for N95 masks with this company. We desperately need this mask for our first line health professionals and he would have that order cancelled and diverted to the USA. Apparently one order that was destined for the hot spot for covid-19 in Canada (Quebec) was already diverted to New Hampshire already, again with no negotiation or knowledge. This is not how you treat a friend and neighbour....Do you know that Canada has a thousand first line nurses that are working in Michigan? How would Michigan like it if Canada ordered them out of the USA to serve in Canada with no notice. When 9/11 happened, hundreds of planes were diverted to Canadian airports... we accepted them, fed the passengers, gave them shelter, and Newfoundland is famous for entertaining them.... No questions asked, we were responding to a friend in need. America is showing its UGLY side now to who was once a strong ally. We don't hate American people except those that hate us...and you can find them on the internet every day. But this American administration is NO FRIEND to Canada. Sorry for the rant but this latest action sticks in my craw. ************************************************************************************************************** I recently found out that a shipment of masks destined for Berlin was hijacked in Thailand and diverted to the USA. That is without a doubt the worse act of piracy that I have heard of for a long time. Sure the masks are needed in America but they are needed just as much in Germany but that does not matter to Trump. A president from America....one who cares about an ally who in the past has helped without question would have negotiated a compromise with his neighbours at least.... a compromise might be a split of 3M production based on population of the country. A heads up about what he is planning would be nice (planning ??? he does none) He is killing any political good will that has been built up for a hundred years.....this will be remembered by Canadians for a lllooonnnnngggggg time. Trudeau was on TV yesterday reminding America about the thousand nurses that put their lives on the line every day traveling to Michigan from Windsor. He is pissed as well but he is diplomatic about how he says it. Anyway...Stay safe....Practice social distancing....Good Trading UE
