I'm pretty sure corona viruses are a separate category. The flu we experience each year has an H1N1 classification. The genetic markers are different from CVs.
But they sure look the same.. In trying to find this answer, I was amazed at how difficult it was to actually find anything but a "symptoms" related comparison of CVs and Influenza showing how they are different.

Nothing seemed to indicate that they come from the same category of viruses..

But they still look the same to me, structurally speaking. And of course, they differ in how they bind to various cells and inject their RNA to hijack the cell's machinery to replicate themselves.

But once in the cell, it strikes me that they are pretty similar in that hijacking and replication.

For me, the images are the most telling. But it's a DAMN GOOD question as to why the emphasis on how the are different, when they appear so similar in structure and "crown spikes".

My wife was successful in getting zinc from Swanson's pretty quickly. Turns out after it arrived she discovered we had two big bottles already...so ZINC we got!

We just made two face masks out of the construction/farm type dust masks I have here. She drew an AMerican flag on them and lettered: Make America Healthy Again. So we are off to have some fun at Home Depot.
