Dr. Peter Hotez, who is working on a vaccine through Baylor College of Medicine, addressed this. He said the temperature you would have to achieve to kill the virus would scald your mucus membrane and lung tissue.

Great. I can easily do that everytime I come back from an outing. In fact, thanks guys, all of you, for this info. I have a daughter in Nyack, NY right across the river from NYC and not far from the Newark, NJ international airport. She's hunkered in but I worry about her and the four people sharing her house with her everyday. She has an infrared sauna in her home that everyone is using. Don't know if being infrared adds a benefit or not. I'll tell her about the nostril steaming.
