I have had the misfortune of dealing with DEC's service group in a large corporate setting.. I would say that 40% of the people that showed up were not adequately trained. 30% were adequate and 30% I would consider good.. that's not exactly what everyone is looking for in this deal.

John, you're absolutely right. As I'm sure you know, a little
learning is an extremely dangerous thing.

Believe me, MSFT is as capable as IBM ever was in inventing
obscure and arcane OS components. At least IBM wrote comprehensive
(if often near-unreadable) manuals. MSFT merely mastered the
near-unreadable part. NT's a lot smaller, but there are SOOO
many of them <ggg>/
