Your image didn't post, but I agree we owe our healthcare workers a debt of gratitude particularly in times like these.

A HUGE debt of gratitude.

Go to about the 42 minute mark of this piece where Zeke Emanuel talks about front line hospital workers today and in the early days of AIDS.

It is about 4 minutes or so.

Hi Josh,

I've been having difficulty posting images for some reason. Sorry as I don't know how to correct it.

My brother is a hospital radiology technician. He's been working 12 hr shift and even some 20 hr ones with no bonus as they were told union rights have been suspended during this time. They are definitely front line, going in to take those lung x-rays even before there is confirmation of whether the patient is positive.

They've been told that it is a matter of when (not if) they will become infected themselves, but must work until they are symptomatic; he is accepting of this as being a part of the job that he'd signed on for. Yet he is upset that he is putting the public at risk since he only has one gown and one mask per shift, thus cross contaminating the patients.

What was really not right is that because they have way too many cases, the hospital set up a second room for radiology 2 weeks ago and the techs continued their work in there. They just found out that the room was unleaded, thus they had been unprotected from radiation for over a week.

My brother is my hero...period.
