The soon to be four weeks of staying in place and Trump wanting to reopen everything...puts us all at risk! We know that Trump is not a rational thinker..he admit that he had read the report from Navarro where he tired to warn him about a pandemic crisis. This is what Trump faces..be damned if he cares what happens to we people. 1) Today I read data that hotel occupancy rates are down..for the luxury hotels their occupancy rate is 5-10%. 17 of Trumps properties are closed and he is missing nearly a million dollars a day in revenue. 2) Trump know he must win the election in Nov...because him becoming a regular citizen..his financial crisis will put in bankruptcy courts around the world. 3)He has no option but opening up the economy..it’s only the poor folks that will suffer the consequences .

Ignorance can truly be bliss! Last night I wondered how many confirmed cases were in my area..by Zip Code I found that I have 30 unknown “neighbors” that are confirmed cases.

I don't see how we can open up the economy and go back to work without a vaccine?

Say you are a checker in a store. All it takes is for one person who is contagious to infect you.

And for people with underlying health problems where contracting the virus will probably be a death sentence, they cannot risk any infection at all.

I notice many around Trump keep talking about phased openings, but they don't talk about the vaccine. I am guessing because they know that is 12 to 18 months away and the don't want to bring it up?

So I am curious just how Trump and his brain dead minions plan to effect opening up the economy May 1st?

My "guess" is that they figure the apex will be over by May first which will free up lots of beds and then they can just let it run wild to get herd immunity and get it over with fast?

<,

The worst of new infections is already behind us. And this weekend, we will likely pass the peak of hospital shortage. It will feel very bad over next week as more and more people will die and new patients will need already scarce resources, but we should be hitting the lows by Monday...maybe sooner.

Now the back to work process is a hard nut to crack. Without free, frequent, and widely available testing, I don't see how everyone can go back to work/gym/school etc. If we do, then there will be a 2nd phase.

One potential solution is to have a staged opening. Perhaps a phased approach to the opening up of the businesses, combined with a phased relaxation of social distancing (you an go out on odd days only - or on odd days only the people with a odd day of birth can go out, and on even days the rest). Really I don't know. China and South Korea are the only ones who have opened up their economies, and neither of their options is available to the US.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.
