Hello Du! I'm not real happy about the stock's recent performance either, but like J6P, I believe that these guys know what they're doing(as I recall, CPQ is Forbes Company of the Year and EP was named one of 1997's 10 Best CEO's). Who better to, not only know what fits CPQ's needs, but also how to make it a smooth and successful transition. I bought stock in this company so that I could sleep at nite and so far, no problem. I saw EP interviewed today on CNBC and he is IN CHARGE and as cool as a cucumber. If we want CPQ to be a dynamic, diversified, kick-ass world class company, then we have to expect the company to take some calculated chances. Someone on this thread said that CPQ COULD be the McDonald's of the tech companies in a few short years. Well, acquisition is part of the formula to achieve that end... at least IMHO. I'll take the CEO's word that DEC is right choice and that the agreed price made sense. Hey, these guys are working for me. I'll give them the slack they deserve. Look at a 5 year chart, I don't think anyone here coulda done better. Stephen
