I think they will blame Trump. People focus when it is their ass on the line. There is a reason African Americans vote over 90% Democratic in every election and with other minorities the majority vote for dems. They know their enemy. In fact now it pertains to women as well. They know the enemy. Same with FDR's landslide. There is already evidence people are increasingly blaming Trump. And they will create many photo ops of triumph like WWII. Trump and McConnell will seize the moment to further shift the wealth and deregulation to their friends. And spin it as for the American workers, especially 'the blacks." Trump now loves "the blacks" but wouldn't wanna marry one because they came from shithole countries near where Obama came from. I still wouldn't be totally surprised that Trump will step down (a great hero) before the convention rather than suffer a humiliating loss if it becomes obvious. Or his cardio health.
