zita-
Lao Tzu
The simple truth: there is no self.
And there is nothing other than the self.
i like lao tzu's writings. he's being coy here.
he's just saying the ego is illusion as far as
personal identity goes and nature or the "main
body" is ONE consciousness, ONE entity... the
all inclusive resort... the interconnected, electric
universe. but you knew that. :-)

he's sorta saying, "isn't it a bitch that we use the
same word (self) to describe two things that are
so completely different?"

lao tzu knew how to "get" the ONEness identity.
he could name that tune in four notes. he's credited
as the author of the Tao-Te-Ching. It's fairly short
(about 50 pages) and is an easy read. the entire
text is online at the link.
i think we are talking at odds with each
other when we don’t mean to. one of the
drawbacks of relying on the written word.
yes. and there are many better ways to communicate.

one of the best ways (and i have to remind my ego of
this often) is to LISTEN and WATCH in the NOW.

it's what the pre-flight checklist is for. it's a reminder.
the concept that inspired the acronym for it was,
"Talk is cheap, SO WALK." let your actions speak for
you because words fail. take the word "self" for example...
FAIL!!!! <g>

another word we use all the time for many completely
different things is LOVE.
there was ice in my bird bath this morning.
whoa. i'll bet that made yer feathers stand up. i like mine hot. 104 degrees F (40C)
