Jim, I do little day trading as I have a full time job away from my computer. If you are trading throughout the day, you need to speak to someone who does the same to see if the timeliness of the executions and reports is good enough.

Jim,

I am disappointed by the service offered by Ameritrade. During the busy periods of the market, the server fails. The phone lines become overloaded and I become locked out of trading. I have had numerous discussions with their customer service people and they are unable to provide any relief. Additionally, they are adding mucho new accounts they say, which appears to exacerbate the system incapacity problems.

I would recommend you look elsewhere for a good internet/discount broker, as I am.

Any one have any stories on Sure Trade, Datek or others??
