Yeah. As a general rule, when trying to solve a problem, it helps a lot to know what the problem is before you start working on it. Five months into it seems a tad late to still be working on figuring out what the problem is... when there was a pretty clear roadmap available to focus that effort... back in February ?

But it's much more important to continue refusing to state the obvious ? Even when that makes it vastly harder to address the problem ?

Prior advances have come because they PUBLISHED what was being learned... and then people outside the box were able to contribute a lot of outside the box thinking...

Seems to me that's where the "let's quickly screen a lot of old drugs" idea came from ?

Right now... we're still operating in the dark in relation to the origins and functions of the "novel" (Ie., engineered) elements in those "unique" protein segments...

It's a good thing they've come out with what they have now... so we can refocus effort now on solving more than one problem... but it would help a lot MORE... to know where this new problem fits on the map of the known problems... and what other issues there are likely to be that aren't being properly CONSIDERED now, much less addressed yet ?
