Indeed! Someone once asked Elon Musk how he got so smart and he said:" I read a lot of books". But today, people are reading non stop on the internet and iphone's. Many, if not most, get constant updating of news briefs on their iphones. My kids usually find out about news as soon as i do. And as they are "processing" information they are building their minds. The people around the world are getting educated at neck break speed and it is ushering in a new humanity. E.g. Very quickly people on earth are starting to see that gay marriage is a civil right and women deserve equality and racism and sexism and homophobia are barbaric, and understanding primitive ideas are often wrong like patriarchal societies, and they are changing things. Look at how fast the world's population changed its mind about gay marriage. That is the result of the world getting educated. <<The ship is now docked because it can't function so the captain did the right thing. The fact that the military (and others) didn't see this coming is appalling. Granted, it wasn't high on my list of things to follow but that's not my job. We hire people in government and in medicine to be on top of pandemics and no one was ready. I guess I understand why the Great Recession happened a little better. No one reads. If they had they'd have known we had record foreclosures before the GR and China was shut down long before the virus hit us. We can't blame only the idiot. We have to blame a lot of people (but mostly the idiot), People need to start reading again. Seriously.
