Not true. Trump was the first to act. The liberal governors came later. Pelosi was traipsing around China Town asking everyone to come out and visit, while Cuomo was visiting the gym and wondering where everyone was at. Florida was just damned ridiculous. Don't know what's wrong with that guy, but then you have another ignoramus in Michigan, who is telling Doctors what they can and can't do to treat their patients. Basically, we're finding that competence is varied and it doesn't really matter which party they are from. Some are idiots and some are competent. ALL acted sluggishly because it is human nature to not understand that your world is about to radically change, until the evidence is overwhelming. Anyone who thinks they would have acted differently is really just virtue signaling. Bottom line is that it took awhile for Americans to really understand how serious this thing was. So in that light, it's really amazing just how quickly Trump acted. Fauci and Birx went to him and asked him to shut down flights from China and he said yes, immediately. That was ballsy by the Doctors and by Trump. I agree with the flight shutdowns and the advisories to shelter and social distance. I do not agree with the enforced shutdown of businesses and gestapo tactics to keep people in their homes. We should not have peanut buttered. We should have been more nuanced. The vast majority of Americans will not die from this, just as the vast majority do not die of the seasonal flu.
