They are what they are, and they will stay that way, or get worse, until we start testing the asymptomatic cases

For weeks I've been trying to get my hands around this logic. I suppose if everyone were able to be tested daily we could stem the tide but what's the point of testing people that aren't sick? Sure it would be great to know you have the virus and could spread it and stay home but this just isn't feasible. So called experts claim this will mitigate the spread and allow us to open society somewhat. Are we going to place ankle bracelets on those that test positive? How about tats on the forehead? Will you need to prove you've gotten over it before removing the bracelet? This won't work in a free society and people will do everything they can to avoid being tested.

They are meaningless and they will go lower over time as we get more data. That's the truth and I know that you know that. It doesn't do any good to scare people into thinking COVID is armageddon. It is not and we should never have taken the extreme actions we've taken, which will ultimately put 50 million people out of work and into poverty hell. It's criminal, immoral, and irresponsible.
