TWY,
tell me the EXACT shutdown dates for Ca and NY.
The SF Bay Area issued its shelter-in-place order on Monday, March 16, which went into effect on 12:01 AM, Tuesday, March 17.

California state issued a stay-at-home order two days later, on Thursday, March 19.

Meanwhile, on March 18, the number of coronavirus cases in New York City alone jumped to 1,900, which far surpassed ALL of California 800 cases at the time. de Blasio was pushing for a shelter-in-place order, but Cuomo refused.

I wrote about it here: Message 32617140

By the time Cuomo changed his mind, which was on March 20, the number of cases in New York City reached 4,000 and 7,100 statewide.

Today, New York is at 202,000 cases, which is almost three times as much as the next state, which is New Jersey, and 8x as much as California, the original epicenter of the coronavirus back during the early days.
