BBC noted at the time, "There are 1,701 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US, and 40 deaths." Democrat New York Mayor Bill de Blasio kept his city's schools open. U.S. News reported on March 14, "De Blasio's decision to keep New York City's schools open goes against guidance released Friday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which recommended that all schools close for a period of six to eight weeks, especially in states with high numbers of cases." New York City had 400 confirmed cases at the time, almost a quarter of the nation's cases. Now it has 40% of the nation's COVID-19 deaths. He finally did close the schools. Today he announced they won't re-open this academic year. Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo is fighting him on this. Political in-fighting never ends, does it? Cuomo said on March 2, "Excuse our arrogance as New Yorkers — I speak for the mayor also on this one — we think we have the best health care system on the planet right here in New York. So, when you’re saying, what happened in other countries versus what happened here, we don’t even think it’s going to be as bad as it was in other countries." More than half the COVID-19 deaths in America are in New York. Even after subtracting New York City's deaths, New York state leads the nation. It has 4 times as many deaths than California, which has twice as many people. But don't blame Democrats or the blood feud between the Cuomo and de Blasio families. Blame Red China. It lied and continues to lie because Red China hates us and wants us to die. On February 9, de Blasio was in Chinatown celebrating the Chinese new year, a holiday that Red China canceled. The mayor rang in the new year, the Year of the Rat. He said, "This is such a joyous occasion, and there have been a lot of tough things in the world — police officers attacked, and thankfully, they will be OK. And in China, there are so many of loved ones, faced with corona virus and we stand together as community. We celebrate New Year together – we are united, and we celebrate this extraordinary Chinese community the largest of any city outside of Asia." The report on the mayor by AM NY also said, "Queens state Senator John Liu warned visitors and New Yorkers alike to stand strong against any racism as a result of the corona virus." The NBA, which is partnered with Red China, suddenly canceled its season on March 11, two days before the president's announcement. Maybe LeBron James got a heads up. LBJ calls our president a bum but is too chicken to call out a dictator like Chairman Xi. LBJ is the greatest NBA player ever but his politics are as full of air as a basketball. We should not let COVID-19 stop us as a nation, nor should we allow it to divide us politically. Fight the real enemy: Red China. Whether concocted in a laboratory or not, Red China has used COVID-19 to conduct biomedical warfare by not warning other nations, by withholding information, and by outright lying. The media is cooperating in Red China's attack on America by blaming President Trump for not acting sooner. How? He restricted travel with Red China on January 31 before the cases began appearing. Then there is the canard about calling COVID-19 the Chinese Virus or Wuhan Virus. Under today's rules, Hitler could have stopped us by calling FDR a Germanophobe. For our survival, we must quarantine Red China. Kick their students out. Halt all trade. Recognize Taiwan as the One China. Fight to kick Red China out of the World Trade Organization and the UN. Yes, we are likely two decades late. Our politicians sold us out and many remain on Chairman Xi's payroll. But we must battle on. Maybe President Trump can get de Blasio and Cuomo to declare a truce so we can engage this battle with Red China. This past month has been one long year.
