His job was to ration the limited supplies they had to ensure they were distributed to areas in most need. If you understand logistics planning, this is supply chain management 101. The Governors' job is to provide for their own people, including not sitting on their hands, but using their state power and resources to procure supplies as needed, using the Federal stockpiles request process as well. Governor Cuomo has been in power since 2011, but didn't do shit to prepare. NY Hospitals have been a shambles for a very long time before COVID. They have always been running on the edge of catastrophe. COVID just exposed that for the world to see. Same goes for Italian hospitals. And another thing. The fragility of the health of the American people is another major root cause. Americans are getting old, 75% are overweight, many have heart disease and diabetes, and other ailments that predispose them to high risk against viruses like the flu and COVID. The American people need to exercise more, lose weight, and start taking better care of themselves, if they want to live longer. That is the cold, hard truth. Government cannot protect you from your own bad habits.
