I try really hard to get my facts straight and my logic. I sometimes spend hours on one post. If you, or anyone, feels I have my facts, or for that matter my logic wrong, then let's discuss it.

That is my pet peeve, and I get this all the time i.e. people complain about my "facts, or logic, but don't post a specific response, and seem unwilling to discuss it and it drives me nuts-lol.

If I have something wrong, I want to be corrected. I don't like having bad ideas and I am not the defensive type. I am glad you are more comfortable with my posts. And I don't mean to insult or impugn anyone.

But lets discuss your specific complaint.

First you say that when I make an accusation that Republicans are not intellectual I have my facts wrong. First, my comment is not meant to be a "FACT" to begin with. It is my "OPINION".

Secondly, I am talking about the subject "in general". When there are millions of Republicans there are sure to be a few with some decent ideas, but in general they are pretty lame intellectually. One can be as dumb as a post and the Republican party can be fine with it, but those people would never survive in the Democratic party.

E.g. I think you will find that the majority of Republicans do not believe in evolution, global warming or the importance of big government to help the people. And right now we are seeing them rise up against efforts to curb this pandemic with dumb ass ideas.

But let's get specific. Can you name five prominent Republicans you would consider good intellectuals?

I can name a hundred Democrats I consider to be solidly smart, without even working on it.

If you name five Republicans, then we have some specific ideology to discuss and we can see what that looks likes.

Cheers

Koan - I don't view you as authoritarian. However, you sometimes have a knack of presenting something as fact, when, in actuality, it is really subject to different interpretations.

I can give you an example from your above post. Although I would agree that some Republicans are anti-intellectual ( as well as some Democrats), I have met numerous Republicans and Conservatives who were very intellectual. My point is that intellectual is not a term just reserved for Democrats or liberals. I think Republicans look at the world primarily through money or wealth accumulation and screw others in the process of acquiring wealth.

Although we have had our moments over the years, I do basically like you and have learned to accept you for who you are.
