There's no comparison. They didn't shut the economy down in 1918. what's been done now is literally unprecedented. It's never happened before. The costs will be catastrophic in lives and social ruin. It could very well alter our Democracy and Economy in a permanently negative way. Already, irreversible elements of Communism like MMT and UBI have been established. In addition, the Fed is up to it's fascist Wall Street prop games. We've become a giant cauldron of every bad idea out there. We've embarked on the wholesale destruction of our country. Our reaction to COVID is every bit as destruction and useless as our reaction to 9/11. However, this time, our destructiveness is wholly pointed at the American people, our way of life, and our economy, which is the beating heart of what makes everything we do possible. This is existential for this country, Wharf. Nothing less than that.

Pandemic my ass. There have only been 2,330,000 cases of Covid-19 "confirmed" world wide and we know for a fact that number is inflated. This in a world with a population of over 7 billion people. The "last pandemic" to which you referred, The Spanish Flu, took place in a world with only 1.7 billion inhabitants and yet saw over 500 million infections. Almost 1/3 of the world caught the disease. Even the 2018 winter flu saw as many as 50 million infections. Covid is nothing so far as flu pandemics go. That is the trouble with today's leftist fools. They fall right into line and believe everything they are told without ever cross checking the story line.
